Epsilon
18"x15"
Have you ever had a wish come true practically instantaneously? I have. I won't say what I wished for, but I will say Epsilon is a depiction of that moment.
In ancient Greek mythology, the word epsilon was linked to the concept of the fifth element. Air, water, earth, fire and ether. Ether, also known as quintessence, represents the life force that animates the universe. In current times we would call it spirit or consciousness. This piece is a representation of a specific threshold in my life where I felt undeniably connected to ether. For the first time, that feeling wasn't a fleeting instance it lingered for years and acted as a catalyst that sparked a completely new reality and journey of self discovery.

Like it's sister pieces, it also features a surreal interior. However, it is the most grounded in reality because the source material was my actual bedroom.
Usually, a collage of this size would take me about a month or two of hunting through magazines and splicing fragments together. Surprisingly, Epsilon poured out me in a about a week. Searching for visual harmony can be time consuming but these pieces fell into place with ease as if they were eager to find each other.

One of my favorite easter eggs about this collage is there is a small version of Eclipse placed in the room further connecting them. That spot is literally where the real Eclipse sat in my room for a year before creating Epsilon.
